Connect for Freedom, Inc. (the “Organization”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) respects entrants and their parent/legal guardian’s privacy and are committed to our compliance with this policy. This policy describes how we collect, process, retain, and disclose personal data about the entrant and the entrant’s parent/legal guardian you when entering the Kids4Freedom Teen Safety Challenge (the “Challenge”) through our website and social media platforms that link to this policy (our “Services”) and our practices for using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

The entrants are referred to herein as the “Entrant” or “Minor”.

The Entrants’ parent and/or legal guardians are referred to herein as “Parent”.

The Minor and Parent are together referred to herein as “you” or “your”.

This policy applies only to information we collect:

  • Through the Challenge Registration Page.
  • In communications, including email, text, chat, and other electronic messages, between you and the Services.
  • Required for Contest selection and eligibility confirmation.
  • Required for Sweepstakes selection and eligibility confirmation.
  • Required to deliver to the Minor the Sweepstakes prize.
  • Required to book and deliver the Contest prize.

Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we treat it. By interacting with our Services, submitting an entry into the Sweepstakes or Contest, or providing us with your information, you agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this privacy policy. This policy may change from time to time (see Changes to Our Privacy Policy). Your continued use of the Services and participation in the Contest or Sweepstakes after we make changes as described here is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

Children’s and Minors’ Data

The Challenge is intended for eligible youth participants between the ages of 13 and 18. To administer the Challenge, we may collect limited personal information from Minors with the consent of a Parent where required by applicable law. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor that is not necessary for Challenge administration or was collected without the required parental or guardian consent, we will promptly delete such information in accordance with applicable law.

The Personal Data That We Collect or Process

“Personal data” is information that identifies, relates to, or describes, directly or indirectly, you as an individual, such as your name and state of residency, the Parent’s email address, and the Parent’s telephone number.

For the Sweepstakes winner, we will also require (i) information to confirm the age of the Minor, (ii) the state of residency of the minor, and (iii) an address to which we can deliver the prize.

For the Contest winner, we will also require, (i) information to confirm the age of the Minor, (ii) the state of residency of the minor, (iii) an address to which we can deliver tickets, etc., (iv) social security number of the Minor or Parent for tax purposes, (v) information required by the airline(s) to book travel, (vi) information required by the hotel to book accommodations, and (vii) information required by the NFL to issue Superbowl tickets. Without limiting the foregoing, we may require affidavits and/or other confirming statements from the Parent confirming the Minor’s eligibility requirements as outlined in the consent forms.

You intend for us to rely upon your entry consents and media releases expressly granting us permission to use Personal Data as disclosed in this Policy, in the Challenge Official Rules and as described in the entry consents and media releases.

For all Minors who participate in the Challenge, the types and categories of personal data we collect or process include:

  • Account Registration Information, including name, age and state of residency for the Minor, username and password
  • Account Registration Information for the Parent, including name, email address, username, password and phone number

When you set your password, do NOT use the same password for your entry into the Promotion that you use for any other account or device. Do not share your password with any third parties. If your password is compromised, please notify us immediately.

Challenge Submission Information which includes the artwork submissions (for Contest entries), submission title or description, answers to prompted questions (for Contest and Sweepstakes entries).

  • Signed consent forms and media releases from you with the Minor’s entry
  • Device Information limited to your IP address

We also collect:

  • Statistics or aggregated information. Statistical or aggregated data does not directly identify a specific person, but we may derive non-personal statistical or aggregated data from personal data. For example, we may aggregate personal data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific Services feature.
  • Technical information. Technical information includes information about your internet connection and usage details about your interactions with the Services, such as clickstream information to, through, and from our Services (including date and time), products that you view or search for; page response times, download errors, length of your visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), or methods used to browse away from a page.

If we combine or connect non-personal statistical or technical data with personal data so that it directly or indirectly identifies an individual, we treat the combined information as personal information.

Google Analytics We may share your information with Google Analytics to track and analyze the use of the Services. How We Collect Your Personal and Other Data

You Provide Information to Us

We collect information about you when you create an account and complete the specified requirements under the Challenge Rules and Guidelines, make submissions and/or entries into the Contest or Sweepstakes, and as required if the Minor is selected as the Contest or Sweepstakes winner.

To the extent any of these automated technologies are considered a personal data sale, targeted advertising, or profiling, under applicable laws, depending on where you live, you may opt out from use of these automated technologies for such uses by emailing info@connectforfreedom.org. Please note that some Services features may be unavailable as a result.

How We Use Your Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including Personal Data, to:

  • Create and manage Challenge accounts;
  • Verify Minor eligibility;
  • Administer the Challenge;
  • Track the completion of the educational modules;
  • Review and Judge Submissions;
  • Communicate with Parents on behalf of the Minor;
  • Award and delivery the prize;
  • Maintain website security;
  • Provide you with the Services and any contents, features, information, products, or services that we make available through the Services;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce Challenge rules;
  • Fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it;
  • Provide you with updates about the Challenge.
  • Improve our Services, including by analyzing your information and creating aggregated data derived from your information) to develop, maintain, analyze, improve, optimize, measure, and report on our Services and their features and how users interact with them.
  • In any other way we may describe when you provide the information.
  • For any other purpose with your consent.

The usage information we collect, whether connected to your personal data or not, helps us improve our Services and deliver a better and more personalized experience by enabling us to:

  • Estimate our audience sizes and usage patterns.
  • Store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize the Services according to your individual needs and interests.
  • Speed up your searches.
  • Recognize you when you return to our Services.

Who We Disclose Your Information To

We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.

We may also disclose Personal Data that we collect or you provide as described in this privacy policy:

  • To Challenge judges and evaluators;
  • To the Contest and Sweepstakes administrators, who are bound by contract not to repurpose your Person Data other than to administer the Challenge, Contest and Sweepstakes on our behalf
  • Educational partners and program administrators;
  • To contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our organization and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal data confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them;
  • To display the selected winner of each of the Contest and Sweepstakes;
  • To airlines, hotels, travel agents, the NFL and other third parties to delivery the Contest winner prize
  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it;
  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information;
  • With your consent;

We may also disclose your Personal Data:

  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
  • To enforce or apply our terms of use https://connectforfreedom.org/terms-of-use/.
  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of our organization, our members, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

For the Contest winner, we will submit a 1099 to the IRS with the Minor Parent’s social security number and such other information required by the IRS (State and Federal).

The categories of Personal Data we may disclose include:

  • Account Registration Information
  • Challenge Submission Information
  • Minor information to verify eligibility
  • Parent Information
  • Your information needed for all travel arrangements, as required by airlines, hotels, and the NFL
  • Content and information you elect to provide to us when you decide to participate in this Promotion or make inquiries about the Promotion.

We do not control the privacy policies or terms of use of third party prize providers, including the airlines, hotels and NFL. You are responsible to review those parties’ privacy policies and practices. We expressly disclaim, and you hereby to release us, from any liability associated with third party prize parties, such as the airlines, the hotels and the NFL.

Cookies:

Other than Google Analytics (as noted above) and necessary and functional cookies to operate and maintain our site, our Site does not deploy cookies or tracking devices.

Privacy Considerations. As a not for profit that processes a limited number of consumers’ data, with limited revenues, we are not subject to most states’ proactive privacy laws.

We do not undertaking any targeted advertising, nor do we sell Personal Data, and we do not profile. Further, we do not use generative artificial or agentic intelligence tools in processing personal information.

How We Protect Your Personal Data

We use commercially reasonable administrative, physical, and technical measures designed to protect your Personal Data from accidental loss or destruction and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, no website, mobile application, system, electronic storage, or online service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Data transmitted to, through, using, or in connection with the Services. In particular, email, texts, and chats sent to or from the Services may not be secure, and you should carefully decide what information you send to us via such communications channels. Any transmission of Personal Data is at your own risk.

When you set your password, do NOT use the same password for your entry into the Promotion that you use for any other account or device. Do not share your password with any third parties.

IN ALL CASES, PLEASE DO NOT PROVIDE PERSONAL DATA THAT WE DO NOT REQUEST OR NEED. UNLESS THE MINOR’S SUBMISSION OR SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY IS SELECTED AS THE WINNER, WE ONLY NEED THE MINOR’S NAME, AGE AND STATE OF RESIDENCY. DO NOT PROVIDE ANY OTHER INFORMATION AT THE TIME OF ENTRY. DO NOT PROVIDE ANY OTHER PERSONAL DATA UNLESS/UNTIL NEEDED IF THE MINOR IS SELECTED AS THE CONTEST OR SWEEPSTAKES WINNER.

SIMILARLY, FOR THE PARENT, WE ONLY NEED YOUR NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, AND PHONE NUMBER FOR THE MINOR’S ENTRY INTO CONTEST OR SWEEPSTAKES. DO NOT PROVIDE ANY OTHER PERSONAL DATA UNLESS/UNTIL NEEDED IF THE MINOR IS SELECTED AS THE CONTEST OR SWEEPSTAKES WINNER.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. You are responsible for taking steps to protect your personal data against unauthorized use, disclosure, and access.

How We Retain Your Personal Data

We keep the categories of personal data described in this policy for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described (e.g. for the Promotion) or for as otherwise legally permitted or required, such as maintaining the Services, operating our organization, complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, and for safety, security, and fraud prevention. This means that we consider our legal and business obligations, potential risks of harm, and nature of the information when deciding how long to retain personal data. At the end of the retention period, personal data will be deleted, destroyed, or deidentified.

Third parties, such as airlines, hotels and the NFL have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for such third parties’ use and/processing of your Personal Data.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, and we will provide notice of any such changes to the policy as required by law. The date the privacy policy was last updated is identified at the top of the page. We will notify you of changes to this policy by updating the “last updated” date and posting the updated policy on the Services. We may email or otherwise communicate reminders about this policy, but you should check our Services periodically to see the current policy and any changes we have made to it.
